Permits and documents before you travel

Arunachal Pradesh, Inner Line Permit

Our Tawang circuit crosses the Sela Pass into Arunachal Pradesh's Inner Line area. Indian visitors need an Inner Line Permit (ILP) for this region; we apply for it as part of your booking, keep copies with your guide throughout the journey, and show the small government fee separately in your quote at current rates.

Carry an original photo ID, Aadhaar, passport or voter ID, for the permit process and for the checkposts along the route.

Spiti, protected-area e-permit

Our Spiti circuit crosses Kunzum Pass into a protected area of Himachal Pradesh. The e-permit is applied for online and handled entirely by our team; the fee is small and charged extra at actual cost. Because the permit is tied to your ID, we recommend carrying a photocopy of your documents.

Vaishno Devi, yatra registration at Katra

The Vaishno Devi yatra requires a free registration (RFID card) at Katra. On-the-spot registration works fine, but advance registration reduces waiting time, we arrange whichever suits your arrival schedule, along with helicopter or pony bookings if you would like them.

Meghalaya, no permit needed

Indian visitors need no permit for Meghalaya. Carry your usual photo ID; state checkposts may ask for it in transit. We re-verify the rules before every season so our information is current when you travel.
